"The rooms (including the non-smoking rooms) smelled badly of old smoke. Our air conditioner was inoperable (knobs and knob labels had long ago fallen off). The towels were very rough and scratchy.
But this having been said, it is cheaper (by far) than most of the other hotels in the Belmar area and I've stayed here 6 times before so I knew what to expect and as I indicated I "got my money's worth". However, it would be very nice for them to refurbish the rooms to elimate the smoke-smell (new carpet, etc.), get decent towels and fix all the ACs many of which are ancient. I'd pay a bit more for that.
It is also very very conveniently located near the Headlines bar (under 1 minute walk) which is nice when you party there."
